Israel's Occupation Vandalism. |
The latest attack on freedom of expression by the Zionist lobby was carried out at the University of Southampton, Great Britain. The conference was supposed to take place from 15-17 April 2015 under the title: "International Law and the State of Israel: Legitimacy, Responsibility and Exceptionalism". Outstanding speakers were invited such as Richard Falk, former UN special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, Gabi Piterberg, a historian at the University of California at Los Angeles, Israeli academic Ilan Pappé and Palestinian historian Nur Musalha.
The organizers of the conference, Professor Oren Ben-Dor from the University of Southampton, and Professor George Bisharat from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, expressed their thanks towards the University "for ensuring academic freedom within the law and for taking steps to secure freedom of speech within the law".
Everything went fine till the Zionist lobby torpedoed the event by slandering the upcoming conference and their distinguished speakers. Allegedly, "anti-Semitic views" would be aired. Two rich patrons threatened the University Directorate to cease support. The caving in of the university before the Zionist lobby made the farce complete. It seems as if the Zionist lobby is afraid of the truth about the crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist occupation regime in Palestine against the indigenous people and the real owners of the Land of Palestine.
The British journalist and film maker John Pilger wrote in an email on April 3, 2015 to Media Lens: "Israel is a gangster state. It holds the world record in the breach and defiance of international law. It regularly massacres and terrorizes the Palestinian civilian population of Gaza, which even David Cameron has described as an “open prison”. Its courts uphold racism as state policy. It has re-elected a congenital liar as its prime minister."
In Germany, the Zionist lobby also prevents events, and the German politicians cave in every time. In the US, the situation is worst. The US Congress is firmly in the hand of the Zionist lobby, and the US senators are working against their own president. Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is openly agitating against the US President. The rest of the world has long made up its mind about this "rogue state" as all opinion polls show. John Pilger's film "Palestine Is Still The Issue" shows the whole dilemma of the Palestinian people and the Israeli occupier.
