Who would have thought that the saber-rattling against Syria has been random is politically naive. The decision to attack certain Muslim countries was taken even before 9/11 happened. In this light, the 9/11 attacks appear as a fortuitous event that served to remake the entire Middle East. No other than a the former U. S. General and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), Wesley K. Clark, revealed that ten days after 9/11, seven nations were singled out by the Pentagon for an U. S. attack within five years. Two of the seven - Iraq and Libya - have already been taken out and destroyed or handed over to extremists. Except Iran, the other four are “cakewalks”, as the Neocons termed the Iraq war. For them, “real men go to Teheran”! As concerning the timetable, the Pentagon aggressors are behind schedule. Although the interview dealt with very serious and far reaching political decisions, it also had its funny moments.
As a General, Clark isn’t exactly a peace activist, but he seems politically trustworthy. In a speech before the “Commonwealth Club of California” in San Francisco on 3 October 2007, Clark stated that his country “was taken over by a group of people with a policy coup”. Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others form the “Project of a New American Century” want us to “destabilize the Middle East, turn it upside down, make it our under control”. “Some hard-nose people took over the direction of American policy and they never bothered to inform the rest of us.”
In 1991, Clark had a meeting with the then Undersecretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz at the Pentagon in which Wolfowitz seemed not so happy about the good performance of the American troops during “Desert Storm” saying: “not really, the truth is that we should have gotten rid of Saddam Hussein but we didn’t.” This was just after the Shi’a uprising in March 1991, which the U. S. had provoked but did not protect against Saddam’s bloody repression. According to Clark, Wolfowitz replied: “One thing we did learn, we can use our military in the Middle East and the Soviets won’t stop us. We’ve got five to ten years to clean up these old Soviet client regimes, Syria, Iran, Iraq, before the next great super power comes on to challenge us.” There was no public debate about this conspiracy in the U. S.
In the light of these revelations, is the question too far-fetched that the 9/11 attacks might have been an “inside job”, as thousands of scientists, military personnel, and intellectuals claim in order to reach larger political ends? The latest book published on 9/11 by human rights activist Elias Davidsson in 2013, “Hijacking America’s mind on 9/11” (Algora Publishers, New York), sheds new light on the anomalies surrounding 9/11 and explains this mass murder.
In the meantime, America’s terrorist friends massacre both Christians and Alevis in Syria. These massacres were confirmed by Italian journalist Comenico Quirico and the Belgian journalist Pierre Piccinin, hostages who were released on Sunday, September 8, 2013 for ransom. Both confirmed that they had listened to a conversation between a commander of the so called Free Syrian Army and their kidnappers in which they said that the rebels had perpetrated the poison attack in the outskirts of Damascus. Piccinin declared on Belgium RTL radio station: “It is a moral duty to say that the government of Bashar al-Assad has not used sarin or other types of gas in the outskirts of Damascus.” Why don't the mainstream media report about the statements of the both journalist, where else they make a big fuss about every victim that goes to the account of Assad's troops?
What surprises an outside observer of the U. S. political scene is the fact that the hawks who promoted the attack on Iraq are back on top of all news outlets. The Wolfowitzes, McCains, Liebermans, Grahams and the influential Zionist lobby continue promoting an attack on Syria. Some, like the neocon apparatchik William Kristol hints at Iran, and the notorious Daniel Pipes says it bluntly: “Forget Syria, Target Iran.” Instead of shunning them, the U. S. corporate media accords them extensive coverage, although they were the advocates of the Afghan and Iraqi wars.
It is surprising that Western European governments are still complicit in this global war strategy. They should know by now that the U. S. Empire is evil, to use a term the former U. S. President Ronald Reagan coined for the Soviet Union. The United States of America is at this moment the biggest threat to world peace and no democracy should follow them. Refusing to follow this deadly path is now the first duty of the all citizens.
